Due Ultrasound

Monday is our ultrasound. I'll be 19 weeks on the nose then, at least according to due date based on my last period. We'll see whether or not that gets adjusted with the ultrasound. Who knows with this belly that is not very big looking. Though according to pregnancy sites the tot is only measuring about 5-5.6 inches, so we're not talking huge yet either.

Yes, I realise that our ultrasound is on Valentine's Day. No, I'm really not booking all these things on various holidays on purpose (pregnancy test on Halloween, first midwife's visit/heartbeat listening was on the Winter Solstice). Well, the Halloween one was on purpose, but I was due for my period the next day, so moving it up a day wasn't a big deal. It just seems to happen this way, though I do hope this doesn't become a trend and I have this kid on the 4th of July. Midsummer I could live with, but not Independence Day, though the latter would be much less of an issue once we leave the US, obviously. The former just isn't particularly likely if I end up with a full term baby, as that would mean at least 2.5-3 weeks before the 40 marker (though technically 37 weeks is considered term, so who knows).

The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the 30oz of water I have to drink 45 minutes before the appointment. Which is almost 900ml for the metric people. And that's a really tall order for someone who already has issues imbibing enough fluids, especially when this has to be imbibed over a relatively short period of time, and before a specific deadline. I can't start drinking well in advance, because my bladder would probably explode before they ever got near me with that scanner. Thankfully I'm not at any kind of I-need-to-pee-every-five-bloody-minutes stage, because then the prospect would be complete and utter torture, as opposed to the looming discomfort now.
