The Dressed Rehearsal

We received our birth pool today. Yes, it's basically a kiddy pool, but they actually do use these for birthing pools... a much less expensive option than some of the other more sturdy (with hard sides) pools that get used, which can cost a couple hundred dollars just to rent, let alone buy. We found ours for a whopping $19.95, which was cheaper than a birthing supplies site we were going to order from (we got it from http://www.qualityinflatables.com/). It's pretty damn big too, as the photo (kind of) shows. I can sit in it with my legs fully extended without touching the other side. We picked the larger of the two sizes commonly used for birthing pools, mostly because this one would make it easier for PreZ to sit in the pool with me, as well as the fact that this pool's walls are a couple inches taller.

We already have most of the hoses and other bits and pieces too, so when the weather warms back up again, we'll be giving it a trial run with water in it, to see how long it takes to fill with water and if we run into any other problems. It'll be nice to have all of that tried and tested and ready for the real event, well before said event is supposed to happen.
