A Disjointed Quick And Partial Update
A birth story is still forthcoming, and hopefully that'll be sooner rather than later. Now that my milk has come in and Dashiell seems to be on a bit of a better sleeping pattern, I might also get some rest, and then not feel completely dead to the world and able to sit down and sort out my thoughts coherently, insofar possible.
Saturday and Sunday were sleepless days (partly because I didn't figure out and take advantage of the fact that he was sleeping more during the day) and especially nights when he'd have a long fussy patch where it was basically a 7 hour stretch of mostly diaper changes, trying to feed him and being fairly unsuccessful at that time, and him not wanting to sleep because something was obviously bothering him... I think it was his tummy and the transitional milk/poops. Then on Sunday he'd only want one breast, which left the other one quite sore seeing as my milk had just come in and I'd gone up a cup size at least in that one day. So I think the transitional milk was to blame, as Monday he'd take that breast just fine.
Dashiell had his 3 day check-up at the pediatrician's office on Saturday, his weight was down to 7lb4oz (from 7lb6oz birthweight), which is pretty good for newborn weightloss, as anything up to 10% is normal. At the weight check on Monday he weighed in at 7lb10oz, so he gained a whole 6oz in a mere two days, which I'm very impressed by... go boobies! Saturday also held a whole bunch of other unpleasantness due to the ped visit, which I'll go into in a later post because it's lengthy.
Anyway, as he's out for the count now, and thankfully he wasn't fussy for long tonight... so time for me to get in a couple of hours.
